Taking a Break on H1

Hi,
I hold a valid H1 and i took a break of 9 months to visit India. I am now planning to come back to US in December this year to continue my work with the same employer & he is aware of my plans.

Can anyone please guide me with the documents i may need to carry to the port of entry so that my entry to the US will be hassle free.

Hi,

---- Get a letter from your employer that you are on their payroll and you continuation of work is guaranteed at the same place of employment, position and designation. If designation has changed let the employer make a mention of it.

Explain at the POE if were you on leave for 9 months and how did your employer agree to this. If you were working from overseas, have some proof to establish that has actually has taken place

If your employer is aware of your plan, then it is better to take letter from your employer which mentions designation, place etc. There will be no problem. You will get hassle free entry to US.
