Switzerland or Canadian Passport stamping?

Hi everyone,

I just applied for the DV2008 and I want to be ready if I win. My case is that I have the dual citizenship with Canada and Switzerland. I am born in Switzerland and move to Canada really young. If I win the DV lottery, would I need to present my Switzerland passport to get my Visa or they can stamp my Canadian one? If I need my Switzerland one, I have to apply and make sure to have it in times.

I know that I am really early...and that only 100 are selected from Switzerland each year...Does anybody know howmany people from Switzerland may apply each year? I don't think I have a lot of chances but It would mean so much to me...as all of you!

As you applied as eligible country as switzerland then you will use as swis passport and allthing based on swiss.you have swis and canadian passport why you are applying DV :), if i were you i couldnt do that:) honestly
by the way i do not know about total applicants of Dv for switzerland - but may be 50-100.

Well, I was working in Canada until last summer, where my boyfriend has a really good job opportunity in California. So I decided to move with him. Unfortunatly, I don't classify for the TN visa and my company doesn't want to sponsor H1B or L1 visa...so I need my greencard. I could not work at all, but I really liked my job and want to be back in the business. So this is my principal reason!

Lau,

Canada is one of the countries that do not qualify, that solves your problem. I don't know why you were even questioning that. In the instructions to the DV Lottery it clearly states you have to be native of one of the qualifying countries. Switzerland is one of them.

As for your other question, anyone qualifying from the European region may apply, how many are selected is a different story and in any case it goes by REGION not by country.
