Hello all,
I am with Company A. I currently have a PERM case pending with the BEC for the last 3 months, but for some reasona, have arrived at the conclusion that it will be risky to stay with company A for the entire Green card, so was thinking of switching companies. I have some questions:
My H1B started in Mar 2002, so in 5 months (Mar 2007) I will be at the beginning of my 6th year. Now I am not sure what the constraints are with regards to switching , H1B extensions, PERM filing at new company etc. I am trying to read it up online, but it's all very confusing and I am not sure.
What is the latest I can start a job in company B? H1-B transfer, PERM filing, H1 extension, these variables are confusing me. Should I have PERM filed before I enter the 6th year? Should I have the H1B transferred before I enter the 6th year? Basically, I want to know what are the things I should be negotiating with Company B's lawyers before I accept their offer ?
