switch from regular H1B to advanced degree H1B

Hi all,

My company helped me submit the H1B application on Apr. 2 under the regular quota since I haven't graduated yet. However, as it might take USCIS several weeks to start the lottery, I am wondering whether I can ask my attorney to revise my case to advanced degree category once I get my certificate early in May.

Chances are good that the 20,000 quota will be full once the official count is out. Tens of thousands of applicants who missed the boat last year have applied this year only to be entered into a lottery. You are better off going to Mexico and walking right back in as an illegal immigrant. They are providing 3 year work visa for illegal immigrants and pinching the most educated ones from abroad. Welcome to America! Be prepared for a backup plan.
 
It is not possible to change at this point of time

Once your H1B application is filed, it is not possible to change the H1B to Advanced Degree H1B.

Normal H1B and Advanced Degree H1B applications go to two different addresses. Also at the time of filing you need to have the Advanced Degree and not later.
