Switch from CP to AOS now?

I am a winner of DV2008 (AS 68xx). I have been reading this forum for a long time, but this is my first time to post.

I am working in the US with an H1B visa right now. I was going to do CP because I heard that things will be easier that way. But, this month I learned that my number will be current in Feb. February is not a good month to take a week (or two) off from my work. I was hoping to be able to fly back to my country to do CP in March or later, but unfortunately it will be February.

So, I have two questions:
(1) I am under the impression that I cannot change my interview date to a month other than the month specified (i.e., change it from Feb to Mar, in my case). Is it correct?
(2) This is my real question: Is it possible for me to switch from CP to AOS now? Or is it too late?

CP to AOS

First, I will advise that you do not change to AOS unless you don't have any other choice. If your interview has been scheduled already you must contact the consulate dealing with your case to reschedule you. But it is possible to have it rescheduled at the discretion of the consulate. They may not be able to give you teh date or month you want though. So you may be back to square one.

If your interview has not been scheduled by KCC, then you can contact and inform them February is a no show for you. I have found that KCC is one of the most effecient US Government departments you could ever deal with. And I find them considerate too.

Again I will advise that you steer clear of AOS unless that's the only option left for you. If your employer can't give you time, remember that once you get through CP successfully, that frees you up from your employer. Look before you leap!

I am going to ask KCC whether they can schedule my interview in March.
