Hi guys,

what happens if I get the I-20 for one year for ESL (english courses) and after a semester I get accepted by another university for a Master? Can I change my I-20 without going back to my country? I am european, do you think this will help at the ambassy?
Otherwise I can apply for a single semester and go again to the ambassy in my country to apply for the master, but I am afraid that they will reject me for a second F1.
Thanks

You would not get an I-20 in your home country. I think you are confused about the documents and forms involved in the process.Go to the USCIS website and look at the differences between

F1 visa
I-20
I-94

After reading these, please post back if you have further questions.

Hi thanks, maybe I was not clear before. Should I go back to my country to get a new f1 visa stamp on my passport (I know the university in us releases the I-20) or the passport remains the same?
