Survey on people leaving for US

Hi, for those who have been granted the immigrant visas :

1) are you quitting your current job to leave for US without a US job offer ? why ?

2) for those who got a US job offer while not in US, how did you do that ?

I was told by a friend and someone in the recruitment firm that no employers will want to wait so long for you to come over and settle down. Things could happen between now and when you enter US successfully. Also, they prefer you to reside in US first and see you in person before giving the job away. Are these the reasons to question #1 above ? On the other hand, I expect a lot of criticisms from friends and relatives if I were to take this route. It is a big risk especially that I am the sole bread winner for the family.

Would be nice if I could hear more from people's experiences

i've asked to join few jobs befor but the answes was all the same (just for residences) howeve i have agood friends there and my ex wife.. but yes its not easy to get ajob offer fom out of the US,
fo me am still having my main job and i will not quit befor seing my passport ready
