Surprising Interview Letter Came But a Serious Problem!! DO NYC(Timeline Inside)

I still can not believe it. Actually I was waiting for my I131 approval notice cause my I131 just got approved on June 28, 2006. So when postman dropped by today, I found one mail from USCIS and I thought it must be my advance parole. But it turns out it is my interview appointment letter. I am a little bit surprised cause the LUD on my I485 and I130 are still 5/27/2006(just checked it). Anyway, here is my timeline and one more question.

I just realize that on my I485 notice reciept, finger print notice letter and interview letter, USCIS mis-spells my first name(they missed one letter). Is there gonna be any problem? Should I call them to correct this mistake?

04/25/2006: I130/485/765/131 Package to Lockbox
04/26/2006: Package Delivered(UPS Second Day Air)
05/02/2006: All Checks Cashed
05/04/2006: Got Reciepts for I130/131/765
about one week later, Got reciept for I485(Postoffice's delay)
04/26/2006: RD
05/01/2006: ND
05/06/2006: LUD for All
05/08/2006: Got Biometric Appointment for I485/I765
05/09/2006: LUD for All
05/13/2006: FP for I485/I765
05/15/2006: LUD for I485/I765
05/16/2006: LUD for I485/I765
05/27/2006: LUD for All
06/28/2006: LUD for I765/I131 and I131 Approved
06/29/2006: LUD for I765/I131
Where is my advance parole right now? :-) and my EAD?

LUD for I130/I485 still stay on 5/27/2006

I just wanna say thanks for all the help I get from this forum. This is truly a very informative online community. I got all my application prepared according to all the guidelines I found here. I also asked numorus questions here. And thanks for all the warm-heart people who helped me. I guess from now on, I have to start prepare all the documents for the interview. :-)

If you told me a year ago that you would get your interview 4 months after you filed in NY, I would have laughed on your face!
That really puts me (and the fellow newyorkers) in a good mood.
You actually got your interview notice in a couple of months. Just unbelievable!
Btw, I would call them or write them and make them fix your first name. You don't wanna have your green card with a name different than the one on your passport.
 
I called USCIS this afternoon and the lady on the phone was quite helpful. She updated my name and told me that there will be a corrected notice sent out to me in a week or so. Hope everything goes like she said. :-) Finger crossed!

Hi, Alicat, good luck to you too! Looks like NYC DO really speeds up the process nowaday.

But right now I am getting a little bit worried about my name mistake in I485. I checked my copy of original I485 form and I found out that it was silly me who made this mistake. :-( That's why I got it all wrong on my I485 NOA, finger print notice and interview notice.

Although I called USCIS today and the lady on the phone told me that they will send out the notice with corrected name again, I am worried whether or not they will also update my correct name on my I485 form. Also, my understanding is USCIS will launch name check when they start I485 process. So this stupid mistake means they might run the name check by using the wrong first name of mine(although it is only off by one letter).

So if USCIS update my name, does this mean they will run the name check again?

OMG, I can not believe I made such a stupid mistake and found it out so late! I will greatly appreciate any suggestion right now.

I guess I will call USCIS again after holiday to settle this mess.
 
Think positive thoughts...just deal with the name mistake and you will be fine Hubert. I am running around now getting together all the stuff for the interview.
 
Thanks, Alicat for comforting my mind. :-) I will call USCIS later to make sure they correct this mistake. You are right, it is time to prepare the interview documents.

By the way, my EAD was approved yesterday. Yes, LUD on Independence Day!
Current Status:

On July 3, 2006, after approving your application, we ordered you a new card. Your card will be mailed to you as soon as it is ready.

Since we have similiar timeline, I bet your EAD is also coming. Go check your email box. :-)
 
LOL - I have had NO LUDs for awhile now Hubert. It will be interesting to see if I get an EAD before the interview. And, I have gotten NO emails, not a one, from USCIS EVER! Very interesting is all I can say. So, yesterday was your Independence Day! Hahaha
