Suit against me from my Ex-employer

Having had some issues with my former employer ( Holding my H1 docs, denial of even a copy, late payments) Got a H1 tranfer without H1 docs though. I got a second notice from the employer's attorney, this time saying that they will suit a file against me if I dont respond to this mail. The mail briefly talked about my contractual obligations ( i.e I cannnot work with the same client/vendor for the next one year after quitting the company and so on) which i've breached (Though I'm working with the same client/vendor I mentioned to them that my contract has ended with the client. But I suspect they do have some sources which confirm my presence in the same end client comp). This time they've included my paycheck along with the attorney's notice and have asked me to call the lawyer with in a week and confirm with them that I'm not working with the client else they would suit a case. At this point I feel that they are seriously into some rotten plan to trap me. Though I've genuine reasons to quit the employer, I donot have sufficient proof to defend myself if it goes any further. I am confused if it worsens the situation 1. If I call them
2. If I dont
Coz I am suspecting that they want to make my call some kind of evidence for them but not sure of what kind. I only have a week's time please do advise what is the best bid at this point? Regards.

You have breached the terms of your employment agreement. Maybe you were justified in doing so, maybe not, but you are about to get sued. Retain an attorney to deal with this. A misstep by you now could have major consequences if the company brings suit.
