People who have good contacts with your employers, ask your employers to write to INS/BCIS/President/Senators/Whoeverthefuck.

For example, if you work at MS, get all the MS immigrant community rounded up, and have bill gates write such a letter, escalate this request thru your company HR, to your company president, tell them that you feel that the sorry state of affairs needs a letter from you.

Also, when you escalate it within your company, word it so that they see whats in it for THEM, versus whats in it for you.

This is a very sensitive issue.
While this may sound like a good idea, it needs to be done in a very careful manner. Think about the US employees whose friends or relatives have been 'displaced' by immigrant workers, or those who are just plain anti immigrants!
You definitely don't want to spark new anti-immigrant tensions with your co-workers.

Agreed GC, do it carefully, but .. please .. I think a letter from your employer would carry a lot more weight than a letter from you.

Do not talk silly.. man
They are considering your application to immigrate.. be happy with it.
US govt can kick the BillG butt out of this land if he does any thing like this.
However BG is not an idiot to take up such cases.

HOw can you imagin such an act, where a person will harm their own country man for the sake of a stupid indians ?

yep

Oh . I believe many people think it has .. big time!

despite what the truth may be, perception becomes reality. not to mention that all americans think that bad immigration is the cause for 9.11.

although it is frustrating waiting and waiting, i suggest sitting back and be patient. our times will come...

And one more important thing consider -- these days, the main agenda of CEOs from big companies are saving cost, a.k.a moving the works off-shore!!!!
Who cares about sponsoring employees?

silly man now i know why you choose to be a silly man....

this is a bad idea to ask employer to lobby against immigration issues. if you follow the news which i am doubt it since past 2 years us lost over 2.8 million jobs. us citizens are out of payroll since over 12 months. hundreds of thousands of immigrantions employee when gather at weekly family re-union talk about immigration and taken away jobs from their relatives and fellow citizens by immigrants. this is a very bad idea to begin with.

I am still not convinced.

I am not arguing whats right and whats not. I am not arguing what views an average american holds. And I am not arguing the job market.

BUT .. the US employer even today faces a classic situation that a loved employee (loved is momentary because he needs him right then, he might kick him tommorow), loved employee cannot continue to work because of INS regulations and delays (expired ead .. etc.), and due to which, the US employer's works suffers.

Inspite of the current job market, it can be argued that due to INS delays and ineffeciencies, the actual work suffers. And given that argument, I am VERY sure, that for a credible employee, the employer wouldn't mind writing a peice of paper. Not to mention if all employees got together, with a polite request, it will work.

In this thread, I see a total brainwash. I see a total negative attitude and dejection that "We are helpless, the whole america is out to screw us, so why even bother trying".

So if Americans think immigration is bad, and you think US employers won't even support you for a very very credible cause, why are you even trying to settle in a place that is so unfair? I don't think I agree with you there.

Americans that matter, and are in places to make a difference agree that effective immigration is good, and .. employers do care about people who get the work done, skin color doesn't matter. Good job market or bad, if you are worth it ..... you are worth it, and I am sure amongst us, especially united .. we are worth it.

Regards what the average american thinks on the street, I could care less, because he can't make zilch of difference.
