Suggestion needed regarding Problematic Employer

Hi everyone,

Until recently I was working with a consulting firm. I wanted to get my H1B visa stamped as I am making plans to go to India this summer. After pushing hard he asked me to sign a document stating that I will work for him for 1.5 years to get my H1B documents. I had to sign them to get my papers. After that I got a full time job with a different company and accepted that offer. Some how my previos company manager got hold of my phone # at work and threatening me that he will file law suit against me stating that I wasn't with him for 1.5 years. I want to know if this is legal and can the employer has the right to do it?? More over he hasn't even paid a penny when I was on bench.

A friend of mine is suggesting to call DOL and explain them about how
he made me sing those papers to get my H1 Documents and about not
being paid.I am very much confused about whether I should call DOL or not. Please advise.

I dont think he can do anything, first and foremost H1 copy is for employee as employer gets his own copy. He is just threatening you just ignore him.

Thanks for the advice..

The only thing that concers me is the 1.5 year agreement. Are those kind of aggrements valid?? Any kind of resonse is highly appreciated.
