Went for consular interview at New Delhi Consulate. Very smooth other than keeping you waiting. All documents are collected 2 weeks in advance at local VFS office including Medical report so keep that in mind i.e. schedule a medical appointment at least 16 days before your appointment. On day of interview, just go with passports and any additional documents you feel may be required (none in my case). They call you to the window, you swear under oath that your application is true, they tell you approved, and that passports will be sent back to you by courier in 3-5 days. Barely took 3 minutes.

Good luck to all of you. This is a very informative forum and lets keep it going.

CP Delhi

Is it an absolute requirement that u have to submit all documents in advance or is it just a recommendation. If there are no time constraints I guess u can do medicals etc earlier but if time is limiting factor my understanding was that u basically had to pay the courier fees atleast 10 days in advance (fees is mandatory)-has anything changed recently.

Also, how many days for medical reports to materialize and which group did you go to.

Thanx

it is a requirement to show the documents. You may choose to not submit them and hand carry to embassy on the day of interview. You still have to pay the full courier fee.
Hope that helps.

Went to Dr. Dawesar at Bhikaji Cama place, 2 working days for the report

EB1 New Delhi Consulate

Hi,
Since u also had EB 1 processing I had a few questions for you:

1) Do you need a notarized employment letter or not. I ask this since EB1 is a self petition-my understanding was that it is not required-any thoughts

2) Second, do you require I-134 if one's spouse is working and has a separate income

3) Did you get tax Transcripts from the IRS or did you just take the tax returns

3) For Delhi consular processing, did you keep a window period of 14-16 days to submit documents to VFS or was it 14-16 working days (as suggested on Delhi consulate webpage).

Any suggestions would be helpful (Hadron and J1 victim chip in if you have any suggestions)

Thank you all as always!

1) I was EB1-OR (EB1-2) which required the notarized employment letter. even with Eb1-EA (Eb1-1) which is self petition, a job offer is suggested but not required.
2) As per the embassy, if family goes to interview with you and enters US with you, I-134 is not required. Follow to join cases require I-134. I did not submit an I-134 and there was no problem.
3) Tax returns. They did not ask to see them though, since a notarized employment letter is sufficient proof as per the letter. If I-134 is required for a follow to join spouse/child, these are important.
4) Its 10-15 working days in the letter i.e. 14-21 days. I started the medical appointment 21 days before interview which gives enough time with a few days to spare to meet the 14 days deadline.

Hope that helps.
