I just applied for the waiver and received the case number (by the way, it tooks 2 1/2 weeks to get it) and as part of the next step of the application, they are requesting a personal statement regarding the reasons for not fulfilling the requirement. I just wanted to know if some of the successful candidates would be willing to share some of their statements or key phrases and tone of such letter.

I really appreciate any replies

Thanks in advance,

Do you already have your no objection letter from your home government? It took us four and a half months to get that from my husbands home country. Then it took two months for the state departments recomendation. Then another two months for the I.N.S. approval. So the entire three step process took nine months. But we were sucessful. As for our letter of reason why. We just wrote our personal story and it worked. Just be honest and heartfelt. Best wishes just be patient.
