Pingpong...

I am on the same SHIP! Hope it does not become TITANIC!!!! :D

28+ months and counting.

Today, had a fight with TIER II immigration officer. They all SUCK! They are not out their to help us but to make our lives more miserable.

She was tying to tell me what's my problem.

Wish you a sooner approval.

YLB2,

Your journey is much worse than many here.

Wish you a speedy approval.

tufan,

Wish you a speedy approval.

Pingpong,
The rate at which the processing time is increasing from 12 months to 28-32 months, I am just womdering how far this number can go. My be 10 years from now the processing period of 485 may reach a figure of say 96 months. USCIS will have very hard time in figuring out how many H1B extensions will they give. May be 10 yr extensions. Also USCIS can make a lot of Vitamin M (money) in granting 10 EAD's, 10 AP's and so forth and well imagine, less number of people will come to USA realizing the fact that GC is now a 10 yr process, so might as well stay back home.
Can U suggest some better numbers on behalf of USCIS here?
or do you think the processing time will eventually reduce back to 6-12 months for 485 over the next 5-10 yrs? May be a new bill in election year 2008. (Hillary Clinton era).
By the way I am also completing 28 months soon.

Just venting out!

I really feel bad for all those who are waiting for long. But you all should come up with some new idea to fight this backlog issue at CIS.

congrats . I wish you many more successes :p
pingpong, if you leave this forum, then who will maintain your important information thread. I think that by the time you get your approval, your thread will become a good source of immigration law. Who knows, harward might recommend that as a reference material on immigration laws :D

Don't let that happen. Get approved soon :)

For all you guys who have been waiting foreever, what does the case status say? 365 to 540 days?

These times are "almost" as bad as the TSC average time. I'm surprised to see that VSC has slowed down so much lately.

TSC is officially processing cases from Sept 2001, but some approvals are coming in for December 2001 through March 2002 on the TSC forum.

Unfortunately a few cases on this forum in TSC are still pending since May 2001, so be glad that you are in VSC, not TSC.

I have contacted the local congressman (John Olver) office. The Immigration director was very helpful. He inquired Boston USCIS about the status of my AOS application. The answer was “Pending FBI name check”. According to USCIS, they submitted the name check request in January 2003 however they did not receive any reply from FBI. After 8 month, in September 2003, they re-submitted the request, and there is no reply until now. According to Immigration director, he does not have the power to inquire FBI about the reasons for delay. He guessed, however, that if my name is common in my home country FBI might have a hit on it in their databases, so they are conducting some more investigations. He also asked me not to call him anymore because he is monitoring the progress of my AOS and he will let me know if there is anything new.

Best,
YLB2
