First of all a very warm thanks to all in this board. The information I received was tremendous.
The interview went without problems but for the following minor hitches -
1. My interview letter had 28th Nov. as I had requested for a later date to get police certificate from 2 countries. Once inside at 9.30AM for a 10.30 AM interview, I was asked to go to information window to get the letter stating 19th December. If one goes to the information queue after 7AM one cant hope to reach the window which closes at 11. At 10.25AM a God sent security guy was kind enough to go inside and get me the current letter. Fhew! it was close.
2. Column 11 on OF-230 PART I "PRESENT ADDRESS" should be local address in India and not current address in US A. Was asked to change.
3. My photos with glasses (taken at a studio) were rejected. Photos of my wife and daughter were also rejected. Had to take them again inside the consulate. I recommend that every one take the photos there as the folks know how to take it correctly.
4. My wife\'s birth certificate from the doctor was rejected. The lady at the window asked for school leaving certificate(10th). We got the copy made inside the consulate and submitted with the photos.
There were some formality questions at interview like company name, location etc after swearing to say truth.
Process at POE was straight forward. The medical at Lilawati was also cool. Got report the same day. I do suggest taking vaccines in USA as that will save time and money.
Copy of the following documents were asked (Original is required for verification):-
Birth Certificate(must be from muncipal corp. else use school leaving)
Marriage Certificate
Police Certificate (If stayed for more than 6 months in countries other than USA and India(I guess one needs from India post Jan 02))
OF-230 Part I and II
Affidevit of support (for spouse and child)
Appointment letter from the company (stating sallary , title etc)
