Payback time for me.
Went for my H1b revalidation stamping at Matamoros, Mx. It was F1-H1b-H1b stamping, no gaps in status, no red flags in my stay in US.
Took the help of CTS in Brownsville, TX, highly recommend.
. CTS picked us up and took us to hotel
. CTS picked us up next morning and gave us the mexico permit for 72 hrs and the draft to be paid at the mexican consullate.
. CTS took us to the mexican side of the border via car and got us the mexican permit from the counter, we had to stand in line for it, for about a minute.
. Then we got to the us consullate in matamoros, stood in line to get inside.
. Once inside, one guy checked our ds-156 and ds157 and stapled them together
. then we got a token and then stood for hte fingerprinting
. then got fingerprinting and photograph done and then waited for the visa office.
. got to the visa officer and he asked what do u do, who do u work for, which school, got over in 30 sec.
. waited for the visa to be handed over at someother counter.
. paid in cash 50$ and got out of hte consullate.
. total time at consullate about 2.5 hrs
. went and did some shopping at mexico
. at the port of entry it took 2 hrs waiting
. the officer asked the same question. got asked the bank statements and other misc docs
. in brownsville
. total process time, brownsville to brownsville, around 7hrs
a little nerve-racking but noone in my group got rejected. take lots of docs, never know what might be asked.
thanks to all for help.
