Just had our interview and GC was approved. Here are the details
I'm a USC, married for over 3 years, filed for my wife. Both originally from India.
Receipt date 8/25/05
Did not receive FP, or EAD
Received interview notice on 9/15/05 for AOS interview on 10/21/05
Still no FP notice, so we showed up with infopass on 10/4/05, and they let us do FP (code 3) for 485 same day
Finally also received EAD FP (code 2) notice for 10/19, and had them done too (NOTE: different applications need separate FPs)
Had AOS interview on 10/21/05. Lady officer, very polite and nice. No major questions, just simple ones like when/how did we meet, and just confirming a few things (still live here?, date of birth etc) here and there on the form (485) we'd sent. Just asked for my wife's passport, her SS card, and Drivers License. Then asked for some proof that we still live together, and we gave here common insurance and common bank account info. Was not interested in pictures, though we had them. She had a sharp eye though and was constantly scouring over our application, and asking questions, though mostly just confirming what was on there (as in if I'm still employed, what do I do). Overall a pleasant conversation, nothing to be psyched about. Then she said everything looks fine, and that she is going to approve my wife's residency. She also deleted her EAD application since that was moot point. Finally she stamped her passport with temp I551 for 1 year, and said actual GC will follow through in 2 weeks!
