sorry for posting this so late: somehow this file got lost during my travel.

priority date: 15th july 99
applied for 824: last week of mar, 06.
824 got approved: last week of May 06.
kept waiting to hear from Ndelhi consulate for 3 weeks (stupid me) and then called to find that they need you to go submit your 824 approval along with some other doc
submitted all these doc by : last week of June
recd packet 4: Mid Aug
interview scheduled for Sept 26,06
submitted all the reqd doc to vfs office : 5 sept
reached embassy 7:45. some 15 ppl, mostly from 3-4 family were ahead of me. no queue system like non-immigration visa. they collected the appt letter and then started calling each in some order.
my interviewer was a young American guy. very nice and coordial. he asked me lots of qs regd my marriage, my husband's job, when greencard got approved, when we got married, where etc. asked me to show pics etc. but each very casually, which appeared more like sharing info with a friend then an interviewing officer. And in about 15 min, concluded by saying that my visa has been approved.
He returnd the originals like birth certificate and marrriage cert and supporting documents and asked me to pay the fees at counter no. 7 and return back to the same counter with recpt.
got passport with visa stamped: sept 29,2006
came to US: Oct 15,2006
received green card in mail by : Oct 30,2006
I know how it feels like at each stages; so if you happen to be one in similar situation, dont 'hesitate to ask any qs at my husband email address below
