Congratulations UVW !!!! Good Job...

That's really good news. As suggested by the previous post please post your experience and if you don't mind can you put in thread "Sucessful interviews at Mumbai consulate from june '04 onwards" as I am collecting everybody's experience in the same thread.

Thanks

"annotation of spouse's name" in passport required?

Hi UVW...,

did you get the "Annotation of spouse's name" entered in your passports? Is it necessary to have that done by the Indian Consulate here? Some people say, if the last name of the spouses are different (which is the case with us), then annotation is required.

Can someone throw some light on this issue?

i asked the same question in other forums and i got a reply like it is not mandatory.....but if you want ...you can send it to chicago consulate and get it....Marriage certificate from the registrar will do the needful for the IV interview.

hi guys
got back to US today...
all in all a great trip back home!!!
got to meet family and friends and catch up on a lot of stuff...
interview, as i said earlier was a piece of cake...
the poe experience was cool too...
the only slight problem we faced was that during packing and moving around my immigrant visa registration document which is attached on the outer cover of the sealed packet got a little torn at the point of the stapler attachment and the immigration officer at the mumbai airport scared us by saying that the US guys will object at the poe... but the US immigration officer just brushed it off as a minor issue!!!
Besides that ,the entire CP interview affair was absolutely smooth and hassle free...
As of now, wife and i are sipping garam garam chai and feeling a sense of satisfaction and relief after the whirlwind trip that we had in the last month...
more later

Live life king size and enjoy the garam chai and mail us the mithai! It is always nice to hear happy ending to a never ending process.
