Successful H4 Stamping in Delhi

Hi,

Ladies and Gentlemen, this is my first post. I hope its in the right thread. I have been a silent reader all these years. I am also in the wait for my GC.
I got married Dec7. Got an interview for my wife's H4 in Delhi for Jan 9.

We fall into the Chennai region but due to non availability of dates (my 6 yrs H1 expires Feb 2006) we took the appointment in Delhi.
The list of documents my wife took were the usual all 797s, I129s, my 1 years paystubs, color copy of my new and old passport(current H1 in old passport), marriage invite, marriage photos and album, experience certificates, W2s and 1040s.
The consular officer was very nice (Indian), she asked a few questions
1. Is this your husband's I797?
2. when did you marry?
3. Is this an arranged marriage?
4. What is in the huge file(all papers)
5. Can I see wedding papers?
6. Can I see the marriage registeration certificate?
7. Are you aware that your husband's visa expires in Feb? IS he applying for an extension ??

You are all set, we will send you the visa. We got the passport Jan 12. I am working for the same company from the time I came to US in 2000. My wife carried all copies of my certificates. Also there was no endorsement on her passport of my name.

My brother's wife went to H4 interview at Delhi yesterday. I think she got the visa, since they did not return the passport. Also they kept my brother's original I-797.

Can you please share your experience. Did they keep your original I-797 also? I am thinking they return that with the passport through courier service. Also when we check the passport status on the internet, it says "Your passport has not been handed over to VFS. Kindly contact our regional call centres or call our toll free no 18004 25 0025 for further queries". Does that mean there is some problem and we need to call them?

Your response would be appreciated.

H4 extension

Hi,

I am on H4 visa and visiting india. I have visa appointment at delhi consulate for extended period since my husband H1 got extended.

What all documents will i need? Do they require original principal applicants's 797?

how to get early dates

Hi
Is it allowed for anyone to go to Any Consulate in India even if we belong to a particular Zone for H4 Stamping?

If the dates are not available online, what is the alternate way to get the dates As soon as possible

Good news man. My friends are telling me that spouse name endorsement is required. However i have not been able to see it for any US mission in India except for Calcutta where they explicitly ask for principal name endorsement in spouse passport.
<p>BTw does anyone know how long does it take to get spouse name endorsement in a Regional Passport Office?
