That was piece of cake. Got F1 to H1B visa stamping done on 6 november. There were 9 Indians with F1 to H1, L1 to H1 stamping.. all got their stamps. Mine took shortest time.. had my visa within 1 hour 15 minutes. Port of entry took 2 hours though..
But it was normal process.. nothing biggie. If you have all the proper documents and haven't been out of status once.. then you'll get the visa easy. Don't forget to take letter from your present employer and a few pay stubs. That's all they asked of me.
Also if you are going to Ciadud, then contact victor at victorgarciainternational.com He definitely makes life easier by getting Mexican permit, payment slip before hand.. as well as will give you a guided tour from econolodge till Ciadud.
