Congrats Rashid Trumann!. Question?

Did the consular officer ask you for W2, Tax papers, Bank Statements, Paystubs etc. Were you located in the US or India immediately preceeding the CP?

it wasnt in india

but i will say that based on what most people have said the general procedure is the same everwhere` Thats true cos the experience was just like how everyone here described it

Question

Congratulations on your GC! Could you tell me how long it took from the date of I-140 approval to have the interview? If it\'s not too much trouble, could you post the date when you received/send P3, etc.? Are you on the tracker?

My I-140 was recently approved at TSC and now I would like to know when I can expect the GC to be in my hand as well.

Thank you for your help in advance!

well i had been following rashid from the 140 forum ...the 140 was approved

around Oct 16th and the interview was on the 18th. So that gives u 5 months from I140 approval. But remember rashid went through the direct consulate procedure so add atleast a month more for the new procedure (via St. Louis) ...so u are looking at atleast 6 months from 140 approval ...

I\'m little confused here

Could you tell me what the difference is? Were there any change in the way they handle CP in the past few months? My understanding is that after your 140 approval, TSC sends docs to NVC--> NVC send P3 to me (or the lawyer)--> I send P3 to St. Louis --> St. Louis send P3 to consulate --> consulate sends me P4 and schedule interview. Please correct me if I\'m misunderstanding the process. I also read somewhere that they are not doing this paper P3/P4 thing and switching to electronic format (via e-mail between NVC and consulate?)

I did indicate that I want to go through CP on my I-140 application. Does it make any difference in a process?

I\'m little confused with the whole step now. Please let me know the accurate procedure which is done today.

Thanks!

The procedure seems to have changed for the cases created sometime in

the middle of december. Earlier, you could send the Packet3 directly to the consulate. There was no St. Louis, NVC step in between.

But this has changed for some consulates and Consulates in India being among them !

Today\'s process is TSC sends docs to NVC--> NVC send P3 to me (or the lawyer)--> I send P3 to St. Louis --> St. Louis send to NVC --> NVC reviews the packet and then send P3 to consulate --> consulate sends me P4 and schedule interview
