Hi All,
Everything was as mentioned in Srifx doc. After reading Srifx so many times, ( we even took a copy of it for last minute verification), it was like we were going through the experience a second time.
The only additional changes we noticed were
1. I couldnt get a PCC from Consulate in SFO since I applied late. Instead I got a letter from them stating that I had applied for the PCC there. And I got a PCC from RPO in Chennai and a Local Police Clearance Certificate from the Local Police station. The interviewer asked why I didnt get a PCC from Consulate in SFO and I had to explain that I applied late. Didnt have any need to show the letter from SFO Consulate. So make sure you get PCCs from local consulates here beforehand.
2. Since my wife had always been on H1 and had never been on H4 before, they asked additional marriage photos. Just to be on the safer side we had taken a separate album full and showed it to him.
The whole process got over by 11.30. Pretty fast.
I went to the Local Police Station to get a PCC and he made it a process of 15 days, got me a Certificate verified by all departments which was good. Instead it is better to get a "no adverse records" certificate stamped in the police station itself which would just take not more than an hour.
I did POE with my wife and it all went smooth.
For those muslims who are worried about the adverse effect September 11th and the current situation would have on your GC processing, please be relieved, as long as all the documents are proper and your intentions are truthful, everything goes good. I was worried every step of racial discrimination, but things went cool.
All praise be to the almighty and many thanks to the friends who had shared their experiences here in this discussion forum.
Good luck to all the CPer\'s, CP is the way to go...
