Successful CP(Chennai) on Dec 4th and smooth POE at SFO

First of all i would like to thank to the owner of this website whoever maintains this. This website gives me complete information of CP, otherwise it would had very difficult to understand whole process. Again very very thanks to the owner of this website.

I went to Dr. vijayalaxmi for physical check on same day. As soon as i was done with lister lab, i called up vijayalaxmi office and requested for evening appointment. Luckily receptionist gave me same day appointment. In one day i was done with medicals successfully.

On 4th of Dec Reached Chennai US consulate at 7.45am, I had to face lot\'s of problem due to the bag i was carrying, So i highly recommend everyone not to do this mistake. Just carry plastic folders otherwise you will also have the same problem, don\'t ignore this point. Anyway i went inside around 8.15am. Around 8.30am they called everyone to submit all the docs and application fee.

Only 2 minutes time for interview, absolutely no questions asked. Paid issuance fee and came back home. Very next day my passport and yellow color folder delivered by blue dart.

POE was SFO. It was very smooth. Absolutely no questions asked. Just took finger print and stamped I-551 on my passport. That\'s it.

Things not to ignore:

1. Don\'t carry any bags other thant plastic folders
2. Take I-140 approval with you. Sometime they asked I-140 approval.

First of all CONGRATS on your succesfull CP and POE.

Could you tell me what was alien number was stamped on your passport?

If you look at the copy of the immigrant visa that you got from the consulate, there will be 2 eight digit numbers.

1) Starting with A #### ####
2) Starting with IV #### ####

What number was stamped for you on the Passport? Please this is important and would appreciate if you could be kind and generous enough to tell me about it.

The oriental guy over there at SFO POE has stamped the eight digit numbers starting with IV #### #### on my passport. I think that was a mistake on his part to do that.

What is the number that has been stamped on your passport?

It is Starting with A#### ####

I have not taken the photo copy of my Immigrant visa, but i checked this number at the time of POE when officer was writing this number. The number which is upper right hand side i.e A#### ####.

Yes, they asked for I-140 because my category was E2 and by mistake they updated E3 in the appointment letter. So they want to make sure i was approved with E2. He asked me do you have I-140 approval notice.
