Hi Folks,
Posted below are my interview details:
1. Landed 1/16.

2. 1/16 10.00 am - Got immigration photos made from Rama Color, Bengali Market.
1/16 3.30 pm - Went to Dr. Chawla (allows walk-in appt.s). Need passport, appt. letter and 2 photos. My wife was exempted from X-Ray cause of pregnancy. Took immunization records for son, he was exempted from all shots. Me and my wife were given a couple of shots and I was redirected for X-Ray in G.K-I.

3. 1/20 - Collected reports in the evening, need to take passports or photocopy of passports. Paid Rs. 4200 in total. Will not recommend this Doctor cause of very unprofessional setup, catering to mainly pindus. Chose him cause of convenience of walk-in and schedule that day.

4. 1/22 - Interview at 8.00 am:
-- 7.45 am - Arrived at embassy, dropped family near consulate and parked at Malcha Marg market, 10 minute walk.
-- 8.00 am - Entered Embassy.
-- 8.20 am - All IV applicants told to line up at #14, an indian lady asked for Appt. letter, asked about IV fee (paid at NVC) and told us to wait to called again. ( As you enter, seat yourself so you can get to this counter ahead of others, this is the order of calling later).
-- 10.00 am - Called to #15 by Indian guy, very courteous and friendly. General chit-chat about Chicago and family.
Asked for:
BC. (Mine was part Hindi, took X-class BC instead)
PCC.
DS 230 I & II. (Told us to sign)
Employer letter.
Original Last HIB approval notice(didn't give it back)
Affidavit of Support(am not sure if he asked for it, since I had it in the bundle, gave it anyways).
Photos (3), already signed at back.
Had me sign a letter for intimating consulate in case of employment change.
Total 15 minutes. Told us to wait for Consular officer to call us.
-- 10.30 am - Called to #13 by who seemed to be an ABCD, very cold. Told us to pick the kid up and take oath.
Asked the following questions:
What company do you work for.
What's your salary.
Where did you go to school, what did you do at school.
What does your father do.
How long have I been in the US.
To my wife:
Where did you go to school, what did you do at school.
What does your father do.
How old is your son.

Total 15 minutes. Told us to collect visas in the evening at 4.30 pm.
-- 4 .30 pm Went to embassy got the visas by 5 pm. Made sure of any typos.

5. No problems passing emigration at NWD airport.

6. Landed Chicago 2/7. Went to Citizen/PR line. Were told to wait for somebody to take us for finger printing. No questions asked. Were told to sign and finger print a document and were given the passports with the temporary green card stamped. Checked for typos.
Total 20 minutes.

Thats all.
Thanks to all of you for your inputs.

Receipt of $335 paid at STL

Q1. Did you have the receipt of the $335 paid per individual at NVC - St. Louis.?

Q2. Did the consulate officer see the original receipt or your verbal conversation was enough for the consulate officer to believe that you had paid fee in US. (The reason I am asking this is because I don't have the receipt of the $335 fee paid at St. Louis, as it was handled by my company's attorney)

Q3. Is the case number allocated by NVC different than that awarded by NWD conuslate?

Thanks.

cpdelhi,

1. I did carry a copy of the cheque paid to NVC.

2. Verbal confirmation was enough, this was asked at the first window.

3. Both the case #s are same.

Thanks.

AC140 - Delhi

Hi,

While in transit from US to India and back do we need to furnish any kind of paper work to the immigration / airport authorities. I have an EAD and an AP and for myself and my family which we will be carrying. Besides these documents do they ask for any other paper work etc.

Further we had deposited $ 305 each for my wife and myself at the time of I-485 application which has not been adjudicated. Will we need to deposit
$ 335 as application fee for processing Ac140 application or just the difference of $30. I have an interview coming up shortly at New Delhi and would appreciate any kind of feedback as far as travelling, documentation,
medicals and interviews etc.
thanks

mssj,

Carry copies of your documents while exiting India.

Not that it was required, but the immigration officer did harass me for my PCC.

If you have H1 then it would be best to show while exiting.
