Hi,

I think its a pay back time. and I really remin indebted to the critical info and experieces from this forum.

I took all the documents mentioned as per june24 succeful stamping thread. just follow the steps as in this thread.

http://www.immigrationportal.com/showthread.php?t=216839

i drove one day before and stayed in a near by motel. and I met some of desi friends while crossing border. its like calcutta ( full packed area ). and succesfully entered Mexico and got our passports stamped. ( h1 and H4).

Question they asked:

1. hi, good morning, how are you?
2. so you have 2 old visas huh?
3. show me your resume ( MOST resume seems )
4. show me your employer continuation letter mentioning at least 2 lines of your job duties ( MOST IMP seems )
5. your visa approved. pay the recoprocity fee....

however this is my experince from the folks we gathered

1. if you are working for defence/Biometric etc etc, be prepared to stay there for clearance - 100% sure

2. if you were f1 and went for stamping for fresh h1 , be honest on your resume. dont put unnescessary exp on your resume. it happened for a guy to handover clinet resume . Normally we show blah blah from year blah blah. its fine as far as client goes. But the guy had no answer when VO asked how did he get so many years of exp for a F1 guy to be 1 h1B guy. please avoid this kind of silly mistakes which cause life long pain. I wish good luck to him.

3. but for visa revalidatioin, its just a 5 min job. show your I-797 and thats it ( at least in my case ). I even asked almost each and every h1b revalidation applicants, it was the same.

4. and also, just get your bank recipts in advance. it saves a lot lot lot of headache. one is time and second is once you are late in the queue, life will be hell both in the security clearance and getiing back to US ( aa long quqe and 10minutes/peron )

actually, I dropped my idea of going for stamping till 28th july as I didnt want take any risks. but from this thread,

http://www.immigrationportal.com/showthread.php?t=216839

I understood, that if you have a valid visa, if your visa is not issued in nogales, at least you can be reentered if its valid reason. so I thought to give a try since I have a valid visa and it worked!.

So I am good till 2008.........

please let me know if you need any specific details and I will try to share with you if I know of.

Moral: Stay tuned to this forum. Just dont go by lawyers/HR

good luck to all,
Desi gal

Congrats Confused_h1B ,

I am sure your case was a revalidation of H1-H1. Is it based on the pending green card?

I am on my 10th year of H1, never been out of status. My green card is pending (I140 approved) and planning get my 3 years visa stamped from Mexico. Visa stamped on our (H1 & H4) has expired in 2004 but I always had a valid extension.

do you see any issue?

Please do reply.

Thanks,
VivekS

hi

hi,

yes mine is a h1 to h1b extension. I didnt see any one revalidating using I140 . I am not sure if I can tell you if its a risk or not. but it should not be a problem un;ess if the VO is not aware of the process, then if they send for clearance , then it would be a delay.

may be someone might help us.

thanks

(A) first one got in chennai. Second one got in Canada ( I was working there ) . now this one in mexico.

I think if the VO knows the procedures for your case ( revalidation using I140), then you will not have any problem. As we know many US folks ( does not matter if a VO ) are dumbs.....so simply they say that they would send the case for upper level for clerance blah blah...

but, I wish you goood luck. I think you will get mopre info. may be you need to post your situation in more forums on murthy.com also or usvisanews.com. I guess you know all those, but just informing you.

Please let me know if there is something I can help you.

I was also so horrifieduntil I get there, but everything was cool.

good luck,
