substituting new I-140 for old one

Hello:

  I have an I-485 underway at NSC based on an EB1/OR I-140.
Can I now submit an EB1/EA I-140 self-petition and if approved
substitute it in place of the old I-140 in my I-485 application?
Is this a standard procedure? Obviously I am looking for a
procedure that will NOT disrupt the I-485 processing.
