Student Visa after PR Application

Is it possible to get a Canadian student visa after applied for Canadian PR?

Do they ask question like have you ever applied for an immigrant visa to Canada like the US does in its visa application?

As far as I know, it should not pose any issues. A student visa & a PR application do not have a conflicting intents. Wheras in the US, F1 visa is a non-immigrant visa(no intent to immigrate) & Green Card application pending is conflicting interest.

This is not legal advice-but if I were you I wouldnt see this as an issue.
 
I would ask an immigration attorney for Canada. I have not seen any case like that though in this forum.

Thank you very much for taking time to reply my question.

I tried to call Buffalo and Seattle visa offices several times, but I was not able to get hold of anybody. All they have are automated messages and they don't talk anything related to my question.

Does anybody have a phone number I can call and talk to a live person? I called a lawyer in Victoria and he was asking $190 for 30 minutes conversation. I said no thanks.
