Hi everyone,

My family applied for Political Asylum in NJ back in 2010,
After the interview the application was referred to a judge.
however at the time I was 19 and still in legal status on a b1/b2 visa thus the USCIS
decided not to put my name on the application.
After my legal stay was over I was supposed to get an NTA but
didn't recieve it. I thought it was just a delay in the system.
A few weeks ago DHS agents came to my place and took my native passport and the asylum paperwork
and told me to come to there office in Newark.
I did as i was told and when I went there they started interrogating me. Once I Refused to answer there questions and asked for my lawyer they detained and posted $15000 bail.
Knowing the difficult financial circumstances which me and my family it was almost impossible to pay the bail.

However now the NTA they issued has no date or time to appear for the master calender hearing.

My question for everyone out here is, has anyone ever been through something like this ? Why haven't I still recieved a date and why am I being seperated from my family in the case, as I said earlier that i was 19 years old when we applied for asylum.

Depressed...... :(

Man seriously i have never seen or hear that, are you sure they were DHS agents????seriously because i have never heard of that .May be its just mafia.I will advice you to talk to your lawyer ASAP if you have one else you can contact some non-profit organizations who are able to help asylees or asylum applicant for free with their cases

Best regards
