Stuck in FBI name Check

Hi,

I just called VSC and was told that my application is stuck in the FBI check. It more than a year since I filed my 485. My lawyer is sending the FBI department an email.

Is there any phone number we can call to find when they would be completing the name check? Is there anything else I can do?

these is not too much you can do about it. my name check started in aug, 2005. still not finished yet. And, I can not find out if it is complete. you can ask uscis and find out when they sent the request to FBI. I don't know what else you can do unless you knew some big shots in FBI.
 
how do you know it is stuck with FBI

Hi,
I have a question. My I485 is pending since January'2005. All I know by looking at USCIS site is,

"the results of your fingerprint review for your I485 Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status were received, and processing has resumed on your case. We will mail you a notice if further action is needed, or when a decision is made"

Does this indicate my FBI name is check is yet to come or it is over?

fingerpring is different from name check. uscis only tells you if your fp is done. they will not tell you if your name check is done unless you ask.
 
My name check is stuck since Nov' 2003. I have send several e-mails but no replies yet.

Last time I called, I was told that they are working on backlogs and are not replying to e-mails send after Feb'2005.

They are trying to get rid of the backlogs in the next couple of months.
 
Tried everything

Tried everything. My name check is stuck for 2 years. Wrote several times to FBI, Senator, INS everybody. Not worth the effort. Now retrogressed.
Just forget about it. Will have to renew EAD early next year for 3rd time(4th EAD).
 
Talk to Congressmen and Senators

Hey,

Can someone tell me how I could approach the local congressmen/Senators to expedite my FBI name check process?
