Stuck at I-864 (Affidavit of Support)

Hi,

I'm a US citizen and adjusting status for my wife.
She's been approved for the I-130.
I'm ready to send the I-485 but I'm stuck with form I-864.
I can't provide them with the recent 3 year tax returns because I was struggling with my company, but I have my wife's uncle to be the joint sponsor to pass the poverty line.
Any advices, suggestions, or even solutions would be GREATLY appreciated. :)
 
you still have to be a sponsor. So call the IRS and request the transcripts for the last 3 tax returns. if your wifes uncle doesnt live in the same household, have him fill out a seperate I-864 as a joint sponsor and submit both I-864s along with the I-485

There was no income for those 3 years. Do I still need to file for tax return?
