Strange thing about RFE

A few days back, I had seen the INS website to check if any progreess was made on my 485. It said that an RFE was mailed on Oct 19.

I/My lawyer have not received it yet. So I checked the status again yesterday. It said that an RFE was mailed on Oct 31.

Does this mean there are 2RFEs? Or, does that mean that INS forgot to mail the RFE first and therefore put a new date later!

Any ideas?

Hi mnt,
This may not be 2nd RFE. If there is an address change or Error in your attorney address, the RFE INS sent will be bounced back. Since INS requests to return the mail ( No forwarding service to changed addresses). If this had happend INS verifies the address change in their database and resend the RFE to current address. When it resends the AVM message is updated to date when they resent the RFE.
Coz this ahhpend in my case our attorney's office addressed got changed, 6 months after our company filed my I485. So my RFE bounced back and they resent it to current address.

So donot worry you/your attorney may receive RFE in about weeks time.
