My EAD approved on 2/5/04 and sent out on 2/10/04. During this process, we changed our address and filed AR-11 on time but change didn't take effect at TSC so they send my EAD to old address. As you all know,BCIS won't let usps to forward the Mail . I contacted US rep's office and got help from them in calling TSC and update my address . It's almost a month, i didn't hear anything about my EAD. How we going to know, once TSC receives my EAD back as an undeliverable. How long this process takes to get my EAD back at my New address.

Any advice will be appreciated .

In 2002 it happened to me and it took 7-8 months (April -> November) to get it back. I called them via the old 214 number about 5-10 times and also sent them a letter.

Fortunately my employer allowed me to use a print-out of the online approval status as evidence of valid EAD. You can try that as well.

I think once they check with AR-11 they will resend it to your new address.

However , I think you should goto Local INS office and try to get an interim EAD. Also you should fax a letter and send by mail also to INS service center explaining your situation. That may take sometime but eventually they will send it your new address

Now post office do forward EAD. My friend in Dallas got EAD at new address. Officer is the Post office told him since there is nothing written on the Envelope( like Do not forward) they will forward it. Every office has own criteria. The weird thing CIS officer called his home to inform that it has been sent to old address. Please go and collect from that postman.

Not to scare you you may not get the this EAD at all. My friend did not get EAD as he moved while EAD is pending. Do not move while EAD/AP are pending. It is very difficult to get the original

it will come .... I had bad experience on RFE... took many months .....

I sent a letter to director through attorney.... it worked... and they sent RFE with old returned envlp with it.

keep calling them .and if possible send written ... any written (real) query from attorney works fine.

good luck

my 2 dollars..

i dont think local office will issue an interim ead if they know that ur case has been approved..

Mad Par is right. No interim EAD. Same thing happened with my wife.

Service Center has to send a new one in your case. If it goes back as undeliverable, it is destroyed I was told and a new one needs to be issued. It took us about 3-4 months but it was not my top priority.

IS there anyway, we will know once they receive my EAD back at TSC. DO you think they going update my online status or something.

No

They did not do so for my wife. And it does not matter. For all practical purposes, your old EAD has been destroyed (if inded it has gone back as undeliverable).

Get the address changed by talking to the National Service Center 1-800 number and ask them to send a new EAD card. You will not be given an interim EAD card either.

In my wife's case we had to call several times and each time we were told that a new card was on the way and she should wait for 3-4 weeks. She had to call again after waiting for that long and were given the same story. 3 times. So get started ASAP.

The undeliverable EAD card will not be destroyed right the way. It will be kept for a few months (I was told at least 6 months) and the online status is changed to "undeliverable...please update address...blah blah". This is based on my experience in 2002. The card I received 11/02 was the one made and undelivered in 4/02. However, the policy may change now.

Depends on how you look at it. My wife's start and expiration dates are the same as mine even though she got the card 4 months later. So maybe they sent the same card back to me. But when I spoke to them, they said that the card is returned and destroyed.

The post office will forward any mail until and unless the letter states ..

.. DO NOT FORWARD.

Good luck.

For the one I received, I noticed that it was in the same card holder and a new address tag was applied to cover the old address. I was able to see through it and spot the old address.

But anyway such details don't matter much. As long as you receive the card.
