Dosto,

I recently moved to a new home and as per the reqiurement I filed Ar 11 and sent a letter for VSC requesting to change of addreess on my I 485.
after a month or so I got the reply from them stating that they have changed the address and also surprisingly they said they did some research on my case and there are some more checks which still needs to be performed. But the intresting part of the story is they have also HAND written note saying "they must request the file from National record cetner and if you don't hear from them in 6 months, please call us ".

Any suggestions on this ? , what does that mean and why hand written note and why my I 485 file is with National record center ?

My PD is Sep 1999,FP'd in March 2005 , EB 3

that's somewhat weird. the national record center is a storage facility where cases are sent after being approved. sometimes, however, the processing office might forward the case to the NRC in error. Good thing they caught it.

It should take a month to get it back in the service center. You probably want to check with them again in a few weeks to be sure the case is back.

Although this is uncommon, it is not that rare to occur. No reason to worry too much.

I think this was simple an error and the good thing is they caught it when you filed your AR11

Could you please post the format of the letter you send

let me see if I can find but it was just a standard requesting to change the address in my I-485 application. BTW I moved from one house to another in same county, Do you think i would still have to go through Interview at the time I-485 approval?

Since your PD is 1999, may be it is time for them to adjudicate the case, which they realized when they pulled out your case to change the address. Good Luck
