Strange issue

A friend of mine entered on B1/B2. While in the US his H1B got approved went to socail security got SSN. Started working, got on to Pay-Roll did not realize that he was supposed to leave the country and enter using H1B before getting on to the Pay-roll. No one told him, one fine day he called the lawyer and lawyer told him to leave ASAP. He realized this after 45days into working and left the country and entered back with H1B. Which means he was in the US with expired I-94 for 45 days and working for the company. He lost his I-94 so could not leave it with airlines before leaving the country. After 18 months he changed the company and Now he applied for GC with the new company.

Is this person going to face any problem with GC processing? At what stage he will come to know, if there is any problem ? What is the remedy if there is any?

hi, what about I-94 you should get with I-797 approval notice.If you had I-94 of H1-B1 class with your approval letter, you did not need to leave the country.I think there will be no problem in GC process since you are legal now.GC is different then H1, for GC you do not even need to be with your petitioner.This is for your future employment.You can work for company A on H1 and company B can file your GC.
