I had the strangest ever IIO conversation today. Don\'t know what to make of it. My particulars are VSC EB2/NIW, PD-10/97, ND/RD-06/99, FP-04/00, NJ.
The guy I got (after trying ~6 mins and holding another 3) seemed to have just woken from a really long slumber. While I talked to him, he did not seem to acknowledge or respond. I had to keep asking "hello?" to make sure that HE knew I was still on line!
After asking me what the automatic message said (standard - you will hear back in 90-180 days nonsense) and saying "yeah yeah, it always says that" (!), he asked for my address. When he saw that it was the same as before, he asked me if I had moved (eh?). Then he says, what was the last thing you heard? and I said well, after the AOS app, there were two EAD/AP apps and responses and FP... So he says, NOTHING. After about 2 minutes of complete silence, punctuated by a few well placed coughs on my part he says: "hmmm". Then he asks for my name again. And my EAC number.
Then more silence. Then he says. "You should be hearing in 3 weeks". I said, is there any information that has been requested? Has there been any correspondence that has been sent out? And he says, "hmmm". Then, SILENCE. Then he says, quite profoundly, "you will hear from us in 2-3 weeks", as if that was a concession. So I asked, "Well, does that mean that there is more information that is required, or is it approved?". More silence. Then same mantra of 2-3 weeks.
At least I have discovered why it takes so long to get through to these guys. Meanwhile, I am stewing here in my own Khoon and Pasina.
KP.
