Strange case of EAD and AP?

Hi Guys,
I applied for my EAD and AP RENEWAL in august. Both were expiring on nov 29th 2003.

Then I got a letter in the mail about my EAD asking me to go to a local service center in San Francisco, which I did and they gave me an EAD until 2004.

Online message still says my original application is still pending along with my AP. My original AP is not expired?

Any idea what is happening with this stupid BCIS? I hope this is not a matter of concern or is it?

I think they do this type of processing when some one case is transfer to local office, but since I don't see your detail I can't say any thing.
