Strange approval update for 485

Hi Guys,

My 485 was approved on 8/24/2006 and I already got my approval notice in mail. :confused:
But yesterday, I got online update saying on 10/2/2006 they approved my case and notice was mailed again.
Then I called USCIS , a nice lady told me that the reason I still didnt get my card is because of biometrics is missing.but i did have code 3 done on 6/23 so I have no idea. She said she will call me back but until now, she didnt call me back yet.
So I am wondering if anyone have same situation as me? I know USCIS is very confusing cuz I saw lots strange scenario on this forum.
Any input is apprecited. Thanks :)

I am also in a weird situation like yours

I485 for my family (Self+Spouse+Kid) was approved last week

Bio-metrics Code 3 was done week before that

My spouse got the GC yesterday but there is no update online for my case and my son's case

Which USICS office you called? What is the number

Hi Sinna, I think my case is more strange than yours :) I called the 1800 # on USCIS's website. I think that # goes to people in TX cuz everytime I called people with TX accent answer the phone. SO it doesnt really matter which service center. Oh, As for joint filing, this case happens. I have a friend's friend. Her husband already got it but until now, she still didnt get it yet.
When you said no update online for you case, did you mean your case is not approved yet? or you didnt get your card? This happens so it's normal. If you did get approval for 485, did you get the approval letter yet? Just today i checked again, LUD changed again :confused:

My wife got the plastic card but I have not got it yet

I tried calling 1-800-375-5283 and I could not get past the Automated Voice messages. How to reach a customer representative person to discuss my case?

Any info regarding this is appreciated

Hmmm, I can remember exactly now. but after option 6 and then 1, they ask you to punch your case number. right? after you hear the automated voice system, if will say if you wanna go to next step. You need to go to next step then you can talk to live person. When you first go in, you need to pick that you already been granted the permanent resident status and then you didnt the card yet. But if your case didnt pass 30 days of approval, it's not really helpful calling cuz they will ask you to wait for 30 days :( but you can still give it a try though. Hope this helps.

30 days waiting period is valid if none of us got the GC. Since my wife got it, I am sure something is not correct here

Yes, I will call again this afternoon as well. If you cant get it through, let me know. I will write down the steps how I do it :)
I think you dont have to worry too much. For joint filing, this happened though. BTW, you and your wife take biometrics at the same time?? Both Code 3 right?

I received my card three months after the approval . You can always go to local office and enquire

Hi, Can you tell me a bit about your details? Why it took 3 months for you to get the card? Due to biometrics or?
Local office did you mean infopass? My lawyer said it's not really helping though. Let me know. Thanks :)

I called up USICS and like you mentioned, they asked me to wait for 30 days. They claim it is normal that one person gets card quicker than the others in the group because the cases are dealt seperately eventhough all of them are from a same family

Yes, It was Biometrics code 3 done on the same date/time

That's good you got through.
I called myself again today as well. But very frustrating. Each person is talking about different story at USCIS. :mad: Yesterday and last week said the biometrics is missing. today the guy asked me to wait for another 30 days and he cant explain why i have two approval notice and kept saying my case got approved yesterday only. :mad: I dont know if some other people like my case out there. Keep me posted. Thanks.
 
BTW, are you from retrogressed country or from India/china/phili.
You r one of the most lucky one to get entire GC done in few months...

I am from Taiwan. Yesterday I got an email said my card has been ordered.
 
I 485 FP notice for my 6 year old son

All,

Yesterday I got a FP appointment notice from USCIS for my son who is just 6 years old. I am not sure why they need FP for a 6 year old

Did any of you run in to simular situation?

Any info on this is highly appreciated

That's normal. I had my son FPed who was 5years old. The lady even asked if he can sign :confused: :confused: :confused:
