Well, my journey to GC has got so many twists, by the time GC is approved, if approved, I may qualify for another GC based on Pains experienced in gettting GC ( Category EC2 (instead of EB2) - Masters in GC processing with sufferings of more than 5 years and multiple twists).

Yesterday I got 39 mails in my mailbox, 30 from USCIS and 9 from CRIS. :o :o :o

All saying one thing -
Current Status:

On June 21, 2005, we transferred your I485 Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status to an office in VERMONT SERVICE CENTER for processing. That office has jurisdiction over the case. They will send you a written decision as soon as processing is complete. You should receive a notice informing you that your case has been transferred to a local office.

I have CA labor, 140 approved at CA and 485 pending since Sept30, 2004 at CA.
What the hell Vermont had to do with it?

I called up national service center and CA emergency lines both, no one was able to give me the reason. National service center says - may be some part of processing is to be performed at Vermont.
CA emergency line says - Probably Vermont has called for this case. Wait for 2 weeks and then check with Vermont.

There was LUD and email on 6/21 for transfer to Vermont and LUD on 6/22 without any message change.

Can someone post the experience of case transfers and what are optins available to me?

Thanks a lot.

it might be due to you are living in East coast Area? or future GC, most future GC gets transfered to Local office.

goood luck..............

CIS went crazy. They issued RFE on my I485 more than one month ago and the LUD never changed. and Today I received 12 Email about the event. The RFE itself has a lot of incorrect information and should not have been issued as I thought. They did almost same thing on my 2nd EAD. I feel that for some reasons some depts of CIS are in a big mess and disfunctional.

Hi GC_GoneCase,
I like your subject heading. I am also getting GC processed from CA and I am East Coast(moved couple of months) hope same thing doesn't happen to me. Did you change employer(who is in East Coast) after your 140 was approved. That could be one reason. I am not sure though. Just guessing.

sameer89/rb180,

Although my location shows NJ, I do not live in NJ (East Coast).

I am living in CA since Sept 2000, did not even visit east coast in since then and have no home etc. there.

My job is in CA, future job is in CA, employer is in CA.

There is one small twist. :p :p

This is my second GC application. First one was filed at Vermont, which was withdrawn by the earlier employer, who had office in NJ. That happened a year back. I did not have my 140 apprved at that time. Obviuosly, 485 was denied in that case.

This second GC was filed in CA with no connection with Vermont.

As this case belongs to CA, why should it go to vermont?

Anyone on this forum can please put their experience on case transfers, genuine or by mistakes etc.

Your A File Could Still Be There

No one has thought of it yet, but the reason that your file is transferred to NJ could in part be the fact that your earlier I-485 was still lying in NJ. While CSC is not accessible, but local offices are. So, write them a letter and explain them the circumstances, including your earlier A file number, request them to transfer it back to CSC ASAP!
Thanks

Thanks Dil,

Yes that is possible although when I checked with CSC, they told me A # is related to the applicant, not to a location.

I am waiting to get the transfer document in hand to see if that would help.

Next week I would call Vermont center to find out the reason. If the file has gone by mistake (A#), I would send them a request for returning it back to CSC.

Any other suggestions guys?

Thanks.
