Hi everyone,
I am currently an international student who legally entered the US with the F-1 visa and my wife is sponsoring me to live and work in the US. When we filed the applications for my green card, we altogether filed I-130, I-131, I-485, and I-765 forms. Additionally, I have been living and studying in the U.S since September, 2010. I am a new user to this forum and recently I have an issue with my I-765 application.
I checked my case status on the USCIS official website and it said that on July 14, 2015, they ordered my EAD card and then on July 15, 2015, they officially approved my I-765 application. So after I received these two messages, I thought I was going to receive my EAD card soon; however, it has been three weeks since the card entered the production and I still have not received it in my mailbox yet. I also did officially received the approval notice (I-797C) in the mailbox, telling me that my I-765 is good.
I also did call the USCIS customer service three times already to check on my EAD card, and every time I call them, each representative gave me each different answers! This is so confusing!
The first time I called, the representative told me that I needed to allow up to 30 days for the card to reach to my mailbox. At first, I was uncertain about this, because I have an uncle, whose wife is sponsoring him to live in the US as well, got his EAD card after exactly 2 weeks of waiting. What was special about this situation was that my uncle's I-765 case got approved 3 days after mine was approved! I thought the USCIS is processing these applications based on the "first in, first out" basis!
The second time I called the customer service, the representative helped me send this request to USCIS:
"As of August 4, 2015, your request to have your Employment Authorization Document resent to you, referral number xxxxxxxxxxxxxMSC, is currently not assigned for processing."
During this second encounter, the representative also told me that since it has been almost three weeks since the card entered the production, I should expected the card to come into my mailbox at anytime. At this time I wrote this post, I still haven't received my card either!
The third time I called the customer service, the representative just told me that the USCIS has extended the waiting period from 30 days to 60 days, without giving me any proper explanation why they did that? I got super confused to the way how the USCIS process these applications!
I greatly appreciate any suggestions, advices, or sharing to my issue which I can receive from this forum. They will all help me and wife figure out what needs to be done for our applications!
Thank you very much.
