Still didn't receive EAD after 5 months !!!!!!

:confused: I applied for mine and my wife's EAD on Aug 4 '04 and have not heard anything abt my EAD until today ? I dont even know if its an RFE or just the INS is taking its own time to process, i have seen cases filed in the first week of Dec and approved !!!

what should i do at this time ? Also my H1 is expiring in Feb 2005. I am all confused and really frustated abt this whole process.

Can i re-apply ?
Should I wait till my lawyer tells the status abt it ?
 
Do you have the receipt numbers for your EAD filings?

Have you registered for online case status checks on the INS website?

If so, what does it say there?
 
I enquired the service center on Sep 25th and they updated their online info as follows:

On September 28, 2004, we responded to your request for more information concerning your case. If you have not received our response within 30 days from this date, please call customer service at 1-800-375-5283.

After this i called the service center twice in a interval of 60 days each, for which there isno update
