Steps to change both (first, last) names in SJ DO

I read thru some of the previous posts on name change process and here's what I gathered.
1. Form N400: Fill the new name information in section 1-D.
2. Interview: IO will ask you to sign a couple of name change forms. Forms will be provided by IO?
3. Oath: Naturalization oath will be *automatically* scheduled at judicial oath court.
4. Naturalization certificate: should have the new name.
5. Name change certificate: should be received along with naturalization certificate.

Can someone please confirm the steps above?

Thanks!

I don't think SJ DO does name changes, and there are no judicial ceremonies in San Jose. I hope someone else with San Jose office experience might pitch in. I would say your best bet is to change your name before hand and then apply for naturalization.

Changing name first would cause significant delays in the citizenship process. I'm surprised to learn that SJ doesn't have a proper venue to entertain name changes, given that N400 explicit gives you the option to change name thru citizenship process.

Anyone with name change experience in SJ pls. respond.

TIA

I don't want to make fun of it, but while you wait for someone to contradict me, you might entertain yourself reading some posts from the San Jose thread. Please do check at least the last one. I am sad to be the bearer of bad news, but at least I hope I am providing you with correct information so you can base your decision on good intelligence ;)

How much delay could it cause? I think I can live with it if its a couple of months. what about Atlanta DO! do they process name change??
