I filed a change of status from F‑1 to H‑4 and stopped working right after filing. I haven’t had any employment since July 2025, and I already reported my employment end date to my DSO. Even though my 180‑day unemployment limit has passed, my SEVIS record is still active.
Now the STEM OPT portal is asking for the 12‑month evaluation, but my DSO told me to consult an immigration attorney before updating anything.
What is the correct next step when the COS is still pending, and there is no employment to report?
