Staying separately because of job

Hi,
I got married to a US Citizen mid 2005. I am on H-1 and am doing consulting for my employer in California. My wife has a decent job in the East coast. We have decided to settle down in the east coast.

I want to continue with my current job until I get I get a better job in the east coast. My wife stays with a relative until we move in together (after I get a good job there). In our application, what residence address should I put for myself?

If I put my current California address, will it raise any questions and affect my chance as we currently stay seprately because of my job?

Thanks in advance.

I am on a similar situation, I'm still going to school and he graduated last year and is living with his parents till I graduate. After asking around in this forum and a lawyer we decided to put my husband's parents address (since we're moving to that State anyways) in every form except the Biographic form...hmm don't remember the number. Anyways, it asks you for every address where you've lived for the past 5 years ( I think) so we put my current address there. That way we won't have to change DO, we'd just have to update our address after we move in together. We talked to a lawyer and he said that the process of changing DO might take months.
Hope this helps

Hi Payal,
Thanks very much for your reply. So, that means we write the same address (possibly my wife's relative's address) in our I-130 but in my biographic information form I do not write that address as I never stayed there, but I write my current address.

All in all, I can explain my situation to the INS when there is an interview as I have heard they generally are co-operative if we provide them enough proof that marriage/wedding was genuine. The problem is, will they give me a chance to explain why I have different address on the petition and biographic form?

Thanks.

Yeah, I figured that we are gonna be asked why we did not live together when we applied and we have a very good reason, so do you. You don't have to explain why you have two different addresses when you apply, just wait for the interview, hopefully for then you'll be living with your wife.
