Status?

Hey, all, I had a quick question: if someone entered US without inspection and then obtained TPS/work permit, would that still fall under illegal entry or does that change the fact? Thanks!!
It's for my husband, we are not sure if we can file for him as adjustment in US, as we are not able to find his documentation. His status expired long time ago and a lawyer failed to help as well, via FOIA, as we don't have alien number handy, obviously, and not sure whether he ever had one... help plz.

Very Illegal Entry

Yes, but there's a BIG difference. Obviously there is a record of him being approved to be here, unlike someone about whom the government NEVER had an idea... I think that SHOULD matter... He had a work permit, worked and had a SSN. All is, it expired.

Do you have any paperwork regarding his TPS status or any other letter from immigration? When and where did he work with his permit? Can you ask that employer to check if any records are available? Do you know his SSN?

That's the problem. I think he worked in two different states, although he got it through here originally. That was a long long time ago, like before computers (early 1990s), I did not know him then. I know his SSN. But that's it... We don't have anything else...
