Status Update Vanished!

I checked the CIS site yesterday and it showed the receipt date along with the usual blather. Today, this message appeared:

The status for this Receipt Number cannot be found at this time in this automated system. Please check your case receipt number to see if it is correct. If you have questions or concerns about your case status, please contact the National Customer Service Center.


I remember reading a while back that the case status vanishes when the interview letter is on its way. If I am not mistaken, Joe posted that observation.

Is this the norm for everyone? How long after this message changes, does the interview letter appear?

Oh no!!! have you studied the exam questions for your naturalization application yet? if not, pls do it so, because

you might be receiving an interview letter soon!! (or sometime next week)

At the beginning, your case was crawling at a snail's pace, but since you made enquiries, things are really moving along!

I don't think you'll be twiddling your thumbs and waiting much longer! :D
 
My case status disappeared a while ago and still no interview letter.

It says
Your N400 APPLICATION FOR NATURALIZATION was received on XXXX, 2005. We mailed you a receipt with information about processing. It is taking between 750 and 999 days for us to process this kind of case. We will mail you a decision as soon as processing is complete.

Who can I call to find out if the interview was scheduled for me or not?
My DO is TAMPA, FL.

Yes, I was wondering about that. Or was it that the FP notice was generated one day before the 6 months were up? Maybe VSC's definition of backlog is 6 months and as long as they do something a day before the 6 months are up, it does not count against them. Either way, as long as it keeps moving... I just hope I don't get stuck in "name check hell"!

Your post is not too clear. The message that you posted above is the current one? Was it what it said before?

I assume your FP is done, so when was that done? When did you file your case? Without any info, it is hard for anyone to comment.
 
I Filed in August of 2005, got my FP done in October, waiting for my interview letter for the past 2 and a half months.
Many people have said that they became citizens in about 6 months with Tampa DO.

When I go to check my status it says
Your N400 APPLICATION FOR NATURALIZATION was received on XXXX, 2005. We mailed you a receipt with information about processing. It is taking between 750 and 999 days for us to process this kind of case. We will mail you a decision as soon as processing is complete.

I am so anxious that I cannot wait to become a citizen of this Great country! God Bless America!

OK. Then as Joe wrote, your status has NOT vanished and the letter is not on its way yet. When I get my letter, I will post on this thread and we will see if that is how CIS' site operates.
 
OK. Finally got the interview letter today Jan 17. Set for Feb 16. The notice is dated Jan 11 and the status vanished on Jan 13. The notice apparently came from VSC, not the local DO.
