Status Tracking

Hello all,

Could someone please point me to the place where one can track the status of your N400 application.

I have already sent in my N400 3 months back to TSC and have completed finger printing. But even today the website https://egov.immigration.gov/cris/caseStatusSearch.do shows that they dont have an application on file!! Am I looking at the wrong site?

My application number starts with ssc*. Is that how they usually begin for N400 applications.

Any thoughts on how long before one gets notice for the interview from the date of fingerprinting (approx times, ofcourse).

Thanks very much for any help.

don't worry about online status as long as u have received application receipt and FP notice. It is common for it to never show up online in some cases.

Thanks for your response.
After being on hold for about 30 mins, the Customer support person said that they never enter N400s into the automated system - online or phone based.
I wish they had said that on the online status tracking page.
The only thing to go by is the timelines for the local offices, apparently.

that is exactly i got from the customer support too.
did you get your FP? or you are waiting for your interview notice?
check out few threads here regarding timeline of different DO. if you can't find one, create one and encourage people who apply to the same DO area to post the timeline; then you would have some ballpark on how soon / late you would expect your interview notice coming as well.

ocworker, vidyaravich what is your do? Mine is San Antonio. I have started a San Antonio tracker thread that others have added to. The PD, FP dates are in there. You can add to it too if you want.

Your status never really does show up when looking at the individual case status page, however I and quite a few others have found that once you're able to add your case to a login profile on the "portfolio" status checking system, that's a pretty definite sign that your interview appointment has been scheduled and you can expect to get the letter very soon after that. It will show an updated date that corresponds to when they send your letter, which presumably is the same time that the Service Center sends you file on to the DO. No updating is done once it's at the DO, so the update date freezes at that point.

Sorry its taken me a few days to reply. I was offline for a bit.

I am applying from Louisville, KY. My center is TSC.

My dates are as follows:
PD: 1/31/05
FP: 3/17/05
Interview Notice sent 5/5/05
Interview Date: 8/11/05

I am actually a bit surprised that they scheduled me so far out (3 months from date of notice). I thought they ususally sent notices for interviews within 30 days. But oh, well. I am glad to have a date for the interview.

Does anyone know if FBI clearance is done prior to the interview date, or there is not way to tell.

Thanks all.

i guess it really does not matter if the FBI clearance is done before your interview thou. basically you can't do much until you get your interview done.
