I have opened a status query last month , and couple of days back I got an email from USCIS stating follows, but I really did not get any response from them. What you guys can guess on my case , do you think my case is moving ahead or just they say again your case has been pending in name check. FYI - earlier my case was pending due to name check pending.

Current Status:

On September 8, 2006, we responded to your request for more information
concerning your case. If you have not received our response within 30
days from this date, please call customer service at 1-800-375-5283.

If you have questions or concerns about your application or the case
status results listed above, or if you have not received a decision or
advice from USCIS within the projected processing time frame*, please
contact the National Customer Service Center.

TXLCRIR,

This is a generic message that the USCIS sends out to inquiries. I have received this email message several times and it has led to the following different scenarios -

1. Something in the mail.

2. Absolutely nothing.

So look out in the mail but do not get excited about this.

regards,

saras

For status queries, the online message changes....to the one you got...

and you may receive a mail from them in the next 30 days....saying ...either stuck in background check, if so....or if cleared, appropriate message...

I got the note saying - stuck in bacground check... :-(
you should primarily get to know the status of your pending I-485...

Within a couple of weeks, provided that your address is current with them, you'll get a short letter saying:
"Your case is under review. You should receive a decision or notice of other action within 60 days of the date of this letter."
Then prepare to wait another few months... :(

It may be better to say “Then prepare to wait unknown months or years.” Isn't it true?
