Status of FP\'s done in Feb. and March 2001

Hi All:

Does anyone know how much time the INS/Lawyers are saying its going to take for approval for Indian/Chinese nationals who are current and had their FP\'s done in Feb. or March.

We had heard that Indians/Chinese who got FP notices in Feb. or March would have gotten so..only after theier cases had been \'adjucated\' (i.e. meaning...approved pending FBI FP clearane). The way this was explained to me...if you are indian..and current...and have done your FP recently...the 485 approval should happen in a matter of weeks and not months..

Is this true ? Have any of heard anything about this ?

I am expecting that the INS will start adjudicating such applications in April/May. My gutfeeling...

I doubt the statement that if PD is current with FP done recently for India will adjudicated in a matter of weeks. But that\'s just me. In fact it would be unfair to the folks who have Oct 99 ND and PD well before Sep 97 and who have not been approved so far. I really hope these guys get their 485 approved before the more recent ND than theirs..

I think part of your interpretation is current. However it should be kept in mind that doing FP does not alter your ND. What I mean by this is that once you get your FP done, it still goes back in the order of your ND for I45. Based on current responses I understand that VSC takes about 4-8 weeks from the date of FP notice to receive and update the file.

People from Oct-99 to Mar-00 got their FP notices in Jan-Mar 01 time frame all together. I have the understanding that people from Oct99 ND should expect the adjudication befor Mar00 ND folks would in normal scenario.
