Hi friends,
If anybody have knowledge about the following question:

I am becoming US citizen this year. I filed for my daughter 5 years back. What happens to her file once i get citizenship?

And how long it takes for her get Green card? Do you have idea about timeline for this case?

Thanks
Nimesh

Hi, once you became a US citizen your daughter file will became current. All you have to do is send them the paper and their will adjust her status to current. It shouldn't take long because she is your daughter not brother or sister that has a waiting period of 10 years or more.

amiya- This is valid only if the child is less than 21 yrs old.. If she is older than 21, then she doesnt fall in immediate relative category...

I was told during my Oath ceremony that the newly naturalized citizen's minor daughter(s) and/or son(s) automatically get US citizenships.
